Train Dispatchers are the air traffic controllers of the railroads. They control the movement of trains over large track territories. This game simulates the gargantuan routing tasks a real-life dispatcher faces daily. The problem is that trains must share a limited number of tracks. In some cases a single track must be shared by trains going in opposite directions. It is the job of the dispatcher to control the movement of trains over this limited resource, which can create one bottleneck after another.
There are seven territories that are automatically installed with Train Dispatcher 3. They are:
-Northeast Corridor from Washington, DC to Philadelphia, PA
-Northeast Corridor from New Haven, CT to Boston, MA
-Southern Pacific from Eugene, OR to Crescent Lake, OR
-Southern Pacific from Eugene, OR to Portland, OR
-New South Wales (Australia) North Coast
-BC Rail from Lillooet-Squamish to Williams Lake, BC
-Lackawanna Scranton M&E from Scranton, PA to Dover, NJ
The first five territories in the list above are Train Dispatcher 2 territories. The last two territories were designed with Track Builder 3.
With Train Dispatcher 3 you can experience the thrills and frustrations of dispatching trains on track territories all over the world. In addition to the seven territories of varying difficulty that come with Train Dispatcher 3, there are over 500 supplementary territories (250 are free) currently available, each having its own unique set of problems. With new territories being added periodically, the challenges are never ending.
Why is Train Dispatcher so popular? The key to Train Dispatcher's popularity is the local interest created by the vast territory library. What rail enthusiast can resist trying a hand at controlling rail traffic in his own home town? With so many territories available, the odds are excellent that a particular territory in which a user is interested already exits.
Train Dispatcher 3 also has a companion program called Track Builder 3. This program allows users who are not computer programmers to create their own territories to simulate with Train Dispatcher 3. Almost all of the territories in our "For Sale" and "Customer Contributed (Free)" libraries were developed by our customers. Currently existing territories as well as territories of a bygone era are included in the libraries, and many of the territories were developed by currently-employed or retired railroad dispatchers. Track Builder 3 also allows the user to modify any of the Train Dispatcher 2 and Train Dispatcher 3 territories in our libraries.
We have recently installed an automatic order processing system, which can process an order within minutes of receiving it. If you choose to take delivery of your order by download only or by both regular mail and download, the appropriate installation password and serial number will be sent to you in an e-mail within minutes of receipt of your order. This information will enable you to install and use a full version of Train Dispatcher 3, which you can download at any time by clicking on the appropriate button below.
If you have previously purchased Train Dispatcher 2, please note that you are entitled to a special "upgrade" price for Train Dispatcher 3. You will receive the same product that new users receive at full price. We must, however, be able to confirm a previous purchase by you. If you have not purchased directly from us, your proof of purchase is your Train Dispatcher 2 serial number, which you must include with your order. Train Dispatcher 3 will not replace Train Dispatcher 2. It runs as a separate program. Any extra territories that were purchased to use with Train Dispatcher 2 are compatible with Train Dispatcher 3.
