North America Railroad Map contains data for the entire North American railroad network (United States, Canada and Mexico). Just mouseover or click on the map to see current and historical data for specific stretches of track on current and abandoned railroad lines (lines abandoned prior to 1970 will probably not be displayed). Data includes a graphic display of each railroad line. Additional data (where available) tells you previous owners, post World War II owners, passenger, traffic density, FRA class, type of signaling, and whether this stretch of track is abandoned. Map zooms out to lower 48 states, or zooms in to city level. Geographically correct, this map uses FRA and USGS data, so scaling and track locations are accurate. Researched and programmed by Ron Paludan, an experienced PC mapmaker and railfan, this software program combines history and geography to fulfill a need-to-know for railfans and rail historians.
